Tio was constructed long before the Revival of Valmar during the Battle of Good and Evil by Roan's ancestors in order to fight for them who were serving Valmar.

When she's encountered by the party for the first time (as a boss), she's carrying out Melfice' order to guard the Claws of Valmar. After her defeat she's not bound to follow his instructions anymore and is therefore saved by Mareg who doesn't want her to be destroyed (i.e. die).

At first she attempts to apply him as her new master, for her former one is not in charge anymore, but subsequently he gives her the weird order to be(come) her own master, that she doesn't seem to understand in the beginning. When he dies, she decides to go on with the party in order to defeat Valmar and to understand her own heart/emotions/existence.

In the end, she becomes a nurse in Cyrum Kingdom because, as she states, helping other people makes her happy and that her heart is indeed made for bliss rather than pain and sorrow.
